"Rook, I'm fine, I've done this before."

Jen had to all but keep herself from rolling her eyes as her husband yet again took the large pot from her hands, and hurried her to sit down. Day light spilled into the large kitchen, reflecting off of the white tiles and freshly cleaned marble counter tops. There were perks to saving the world and one of them was living in the type of place Jen could only dream of from childhood. It had taken nearly twenty years, but finally she had her life together: perfect child, perfect house, perfect family, but what ruined this beautiful thought was Rook's fussy attitude.

"Jen," her husband placed the large pot over the stove, "I do not want you to stress yourself. In your condition you should not be lifting such large objects. I read-"

The human woman groaned in response, "Ugh! Rook! You're killing me with this! I swear, you've almost read every single baby book there is for human and revonnaian children. It won't hurt the baby if I took time to make dinner."

"Jen you cannot just---"

Jen threw up her arms, "Cannot what!? Cannot fight crime? I get that. Cannot fix a light bulb? Fine, whatever. Cannot make dinner? Really Rook? It's bad enough I have to watch you nearly get yourself killed on the news every day without being able to help you, but this too?"

With a conflicted gaze from her husband's eye, Jen could tell he wasn't looking at her face but rather the semi large bulge forming on her belly. It had been a few months since they produced their own miracle child (as Jen's mother called it). It was the strangest thing, to have a half-human/half-revonnian baby. Neither spouse knew if such a thing were possible. In their early dating years Jen and Rook made love numerous times, without any knowledge that they could have a child (believing their DNA to be too different to produce one), but here they were.

Jen winced at the memory of her careless years with Rook. To think that she could have gotten pregnant in her late teens was a scary thought. She was just glad it was happening now, rather than at an inopportune time.

"Jen," her husband's voice brought her back into reality, " you have to forgive me. This, is all so strange."

Rook gently walked over to his wife, rubbing her belly with his calloused hands. Hands that had just recently been in the line of battle with small bandages wrapped around them.

"Five percent is what our physician told us, only five, yet we managed to break those odds and conceive." The Revonnian sighed while Jen gently took his hand over her stomach in hers.

With a softer gaze his wife began, "Rook, I know it's scary and kind of new to us, but you have to stop this. You have to stop shoving me into a chair or bed to rest. I can't rest all the time, I didn't just sit down 24/7 while pregnant with Kenny. Sweetie, you have to let me do something here!"

Orange eyes pierced into her bright green ones, searching and conflicted as if he were holding something back. Jen had seen Rook acting strangely for the past four months, ever since they found out about the child. While the Omnitrix wielder attempted to get her husband to talk about his over-protective attitude, he shut her out. Though Jen didn't want to get her hopes up, it looked as though Rook was about to confront her on the subject.

"Jen," he hesitated to meet her gaze, "there has NEVER been a half-human, half-revonnahgander child. Not in the medical books, not in history. Earth is only just now providing all alien housing within human cities. In my books--"

Rook ignored Jen's annoyed 'rolling of the eyes' technique as he yet again mentioned his "books."

"In my books," he repeated with a harder tone, "they have said that pregnancies are complicated even within the same species. This, what we have right now, is not safe. The child could be hurt. You could be hurt. I just do not know if I can handle loosing this small one. Losing a child because of the differences in our DNA."

Jen looked taken aback at her husband's words. It was a fear that few parents ever wished to speak of: losing a child they want. Reaching over to grab both of her husband's hands in hers Jen looked at Rook with a small glare and pout painted on her face.

"Rook, you listen to me," she demanded. "Azmuth, the smartest being in the entire galaxy, is over-looking and doing as much research as he can about this. Yeah, it's weird that you and I can have a kid, I'll be the first to admit that, but it's happening. We just have to have faith."

Seeing that her husband wasn't entirely convinced, Jen was still grateful that he decided to meet her gaze while she spoke.

"It's going to be ok Rook," Jen smirked a little. "You know, I read something in those books too. About how baby's pick up and read their parents emotions. I know it did with Kenny. I screamed once after seeing a peacock while holding him, and now he won't go near the zoo. Baby, we just have to think positively and trust me, that alone will affect our child."

The Omnitrix wielder was shocked to be pulled into a tight hug by her very muscular husband. His strong arms careful not to crush her in the embrace. Jen quickly sneaked a kiss on his cheek and smoothed the fabric of his shirt on his back. Rook smiled and pulled away slightly to look at his wife in the eye.

"So that is why Kenny refuses to go into the Pakmar's pet store in Undertown?"

Jen huffed, "Well, I mean, I read that book AFTER the incident."

The revonnahgander chuckled and hugged his wife tightly yet again. Feeling her swelled belly touch his stomach, for the first time in months Rook felt everything was going to be alright.

Jen stroked Kenny's head, running her fingers through the soft brown hair he inherited from his mother. Watching with amusement as he pressed his ear to her swollen belly.

"What are we gonna name her?" Kenny asked.

"We?" Jen asked with a cocked eyebrow in amusement. Rook chuckling beside her as the three were laying on the expensive bed located in Jen and Rook's bedroom. Just soaking in a quiet moment as a Family.

"Well, Yeah." Kenny said with a serious look. "I'm gonna be her Big Brother. I gotta look after her, so I should get a say in her name."

Rook hummed thoughtfully. "He has a point, Amar. He WILL be the one to look after her when we cannot be there. And he is going to be her older brother."

Jen glanced thoughtfully back at her husband. He sat poised next to her relaxed, ponytail loose to let his black hair pool under his head as he rested on a pillow. His fingers laced with hers, side by side.

"I guess you're right. If they're gonna be ANYTHING like me and Gwen," Jen let a smile cross her lips, "they'll be spending a Un-Godly amount of time together. So, better to let him have a little say in it."

Kenny beamed with a toothy smile, turning to "secretly" wink at his Step-Father, which got Jen huffing in amusement. Rook smiled, picking up Kenny to place between them as Jen rubbed her belly absentmindedly.

"So, can I pick?" Kenny buzzed excited.

"You may Help us to decide." Rook gently corrected. "Like a Democracy, we suggest names and then we all vote. You may pick as many names as you want, but we must ALL agree on it."

"Oh..." Kenny looked down thoughtfully, crossing his arms to think. Jen's heart fluttered at the sight, it was a copy of Rook when HE was in deep thought. Of course, being Kenny's Father and Idol, Kenny would try to imitate him when he could.

Rook had noticed too and placed his arm around Kenny amicably.

"Mmmmm....." Kenny hummed for several minutes.

"Kenny?" Rook chuckled at his son's long pause.

"I'm thinking!" Kenny said defensively.

"Well, see if you can think up a name BEFORE she's born, Hun." Jen teased.

"Mom!" Whined Kenny. "Gonna make me lose my train of Thought."

"She has a habit of distracting people, son." Rook said, winking at Jen, who returned the wink with a suggestive nudge.

"Mmmmm." Kenny's eyes brightened up. "Hey! How about we name her after Aunt Gwen?"

"What? Like how we named you after Uncle Kenneth?" Jen asked.

"Yeah!" Kenny's eyes brightened up, looking from His Mom and Dad in excitement. "Can we?"

Rook looked up at Jen who tilted her head in a thoughtful way, before nodding at Rook to go ahead.

"If it is alright with your Aunt, I do not see why we cannot name the baby Gwendolyn," Rook said, agreeing to the suggestion.

"Not Gwendolyn." Kenny grimaced, sticking his tongue out in a teasing way. "That's Too long! Gwen or Gwenny."

"Right." Rook said, ruffling his son's hair affectionately. "So let us vote: All For 'Gwen/Gwenny?"

Jen and Rook laughed as they lifted their hands, and Kenny stretched out both of his in the air eagerly, before they placed their hands down.

"Then it's decided, Gwen it is." Jen chuckled.
